VOLUNTEER APPLICATION.....to assist those at risk with affordable housing
Safe Haven Legacy Foundation, Inc., seeks to create a safe place for their clients that is free from crimes, violence, drugs, and abuse. In pursuit of this safe environment, screening for any record of criminal history may be conducted.
SHLF shall obtain the criminal history of prospective volunteers who will be working with our clients, including but not limited to those working on home repairs/improvements, daily task, companionship, adoption program, any volunteer who will have access to client information, and volunteers who work on a regular basis with our clients.
All volunteer records are deactivated on yearly bases, therefore you must re-apply.
Frequently asked questions
How will I know when my application has been processed?
Applications will take 2-3 business days for the processing to complete. For questions about your application status, please log back into your application to check the status or contact our office. Please be advised that you will not recieve an emailwith the status of your application. When you application is processed your name will appear on the list of volunteers for the volunteer oppurtunity that you selected.
I don't have internet access, can I use a paper application?
Although we prefer applicaitons be processed on line, we do not want to miss out on the valuable service that you have to offer. We would first ask that you try your local library for internet access, but if you must we have attached a paper form.
I am a returning volunteer but I forgot my password and/or not able to login.
Under the returning volunteer look for the words "click here". The system will require you to identify yourself through pre-questions that you answered upon registration. If you are still unable to log in you can send us an email and we will contact you about resetting your password.
I'm not a U.S citizen; can I still volunteer?
Yes you can, however thiere is an extra step in the approval process for non-U.S. citizens who do not have a social security number. After completing the online application you will be contacted. At this time there will be an additional form to complete and you will need two forms of government issued photo identifications. We will keep you informed thoughout the process.
